Things to do:

There are a number of steps to take to ensure that your ceremony will be arranged and performed without a hitch and as smoothly as possible. The two most important of these - which need to be attended to as soon as possible are:-

1. Date Of Ceremony

The date is all-important. Please contact me as soon as your day has been chosen, to ensure that I am available, and to enable me to book the date (and the time) in my diary. Once booked, I will not accept any other booking which could in any way clash with your arrangements. Because of the popularity of weekend weddings, mid-week days are usually more readily available for bookings, particularly at short notice.

2. Notice Of Intended Marriage

Australian law requires that a Notice Of Intended Marriage be completed, signed by both parties, witnessed by an authorised witness, and lodged with the celebrant. This Notice must be completed at least one month before the wedding date (but not more than eighteen months).

You may download the Notice of Intended Marriage form or if you prefer I can mail you a form at your request. This must be completed by you, but not signed. The signing will need to be witnessed in the presence of an authorised person in your country. I can assist you with identifying such a person in your area.

3. Supporting Documents

A birth certificate is required for people born in Australia - if born overseas your passport - will need to be sighted by me before the marriage can take place, and duly noted on the Notice of Intended Marriage by myself. Where there has been a previous marriage, I must sight either a Decree Absolute, in the case of divorce, or a Death Certificate if your previous partner is deceased. These documents can be brought with you, but must be sighted by the celebrant before the ceremony can be completed.

4. Witnesses

You will need two witnesses, over the age of 18 present at the ceremony. I can arrange this for you.

All documents must be in English, or a certified translation provided.
